Who we are
Sunwise Homes is a trading name of [COMPANY NAME], a company registered in England and Wales (company number [COMPANY NUMBER]) at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number [ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER]. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
What Sunwise Homes does
Sunwise Homes is a referral service. We help homeowners get an illustrative estimate of how much of their energy use solar panels and a battery could cover, and, if they want one, we can introduce them to an installer. We do not install anything ourselves. We may be paid by the installers we introduce.
We only share your details with a named installer partner after you have agreed. Before any details are shared, we will tell you who the installer is, and you can say no.
The information we collect
- Details you give us: your first name, phone number, email address and postcode.
- Your answers: whether you own your home, the type of property, your approximate yearly energy bills and what you would like help with.
- Your consent: the consent wording you agreed to and when you agreed.
- Technical information: the page you used, the advert or link that brought you to us (for example UTM tags), your approximate country, and, only if you accept advertising cookies, cookie identifiers used by Meta (Facebook and Instagram).
How we use it and our lawful basis
- To prepare your estimate and contact you by phone, text and email about your results and options: consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time.
- To introduce you to an installer, only once you have been told who it is and agreed: consent.
- To keep records of the consent you gave and to deal with complaints or legal claims: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
- To measure and improve our adverts using advertising cookies: consent, given through the cookie choice on our page.
- To prevent fraud and spam (for example, checking a phone number or email looks real): legitimate interests.
We do not ask for, and do not want, any health or other special category information.
Who we share it with
- A named installer partner, only after we have told you who they are and you have agreed.
- Our service providers, who process data on our behalf under contract: website hosting (Cloudflare), our customer-relationship and messaging systems, and, if you accept advertising cookies, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. They may only use your data to provide their services to us.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We never sell your details, and we never send your quiz answers to advertising platforms.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to protect your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for up to [12] months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. We keep a record of your consent for up to [6] years so we can show it was given. After that, we delete or anonymise the data.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar storage to run the page and remember your cookie choice. With your permission, we also use Meta advertising cookies (the Meta pixel) to measure how our adverts perform. These record that you visited the page and, if you send your details, that you did so. They never receive your quiz answers. If you click "Reject", no advertising cookies are set. To change your choice, clear this site's cookies and storage in your browser and you will be asked again.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your data; have it corrected; have it deleted; restrict or object to how we use it; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it). To use any of these rights, email [CONTACT EMAIL]. We will reply within one month.
To stop calls, texts or emails from us at any time, reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or email [CONTACT EMAIL].
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have used your data, please contact us first at [CONTACT EMAIL]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.
